The Butterfly Effect

SUREKA BUTTERFLY FOUNDATION

The Butterfly Effect of Ingredients, Governance and Culture

Sureka Butterfly is a Swedish foundation created to safeguard the long-term mission, intellectual property and governance of the Sureka ecosystem. The foundation exists to connect science, culture and commerce in ways that support healthier lives, more transparent ingredients and regenerative business models.

Rather than operating as a traditional charity, Sureka Butterfly is a purpose-driven holding foundation (ägarstiftelse). It owns Sureka Trust AB, which in turn holds companies, brands and digital platforms within the Sureka ecosystem. This structure ensures that key assets – such as trademarks, ingredient IP and cultural content – are protected for the long term and used in line with the foundation’s purpose.

    Our Core Values

    • Science-Driven Integrity – We ground our work in evidence and transparent methods.

    • Long-Term Stewardship – We protect brands, IP and governance structures for future generations.

    • Cultural Sensitivity – We work across countries and cultures with respect, curiosity and humility.

    • Regenerative Thinking – We aim beyond “less harm” towards systems that restore health, trust and ecological balance.

    • Collaboration over Extraction – We believe value should be created and shared through partnership, not short-term exploitation.

    Purpose and Focus Areas

The foundation’s purpose is to promote:

    • Sustainable ingredient and food innovation – supporting science-based work on metabolism, fibre, sweetening systems and healthier formulations.

    • ESG and governance innovation – exploring new ways to make knowledge, transparency and social impact visible and valued.

    • Culture, education and storytelling – using media, design and narrative to help people understand the “inside” of products and systems.

    • Cross-sector collaboration – bridging academia, industry, civil society and public sector to accelerate system change.

Support can be channelled through subsidiaries, partnerships, projects and collaborations that fit within this mission.

Our Role in the Sureka Ecosystem

Through its ownership of Sureka Trust AB, the foundation stewards:

    • Celine Natural Ingredient Solution AB – a company focused on ingredient-centric solutions, consumer awareness and brand development.

    • Digital platforms and domains – including ingredient-driven B2B and B2C channels that connect products, people and knowledge.

    • Trademarks, concepts and content IP – covering ingredient brands, packaging innovations, cultural storytelling and educational formats.

The foundation does not run daily operations itself. Instead, it:

    • holds the long-term mission and values,

    • appoints boards in its subsidiaries,

    • protects intellectual property, and

    • creates a stable framework for collaboration, funding and innovation.
